Sweet Elsie Photography is excited to announce a partnership with Think Pink Photography. Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. We are a charitable organization that serves two main purposes – celebrating life and supporting the cause.

Through our professional photographer network, we are helping breast cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the breast cancer patient. Clients participating in a Think Pink Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session. They will also receive a discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.

To support the cause, we have partnered with The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. All funds generated through donations and various fundraising efforts are paid directly to The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. As a 3-time breast cancer survivor, Danielle Beverly and her husband Eric joined together to form a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and resources for families who have been touched by breast cancer.

My daughter starts kindergarten next week. Time flies I can not believe how quickly it has past. I took the week off to spend some mommy and daughter time before the big day. We went down to Crocodile Lake for some photos here is one of my favorites.

3 Day weekend

I just love 3 day weekends, honestly who does not. It's been a little rainy the last few days but it looks like it is going to clear up so we can grill and possibly go to the pool. I was walking with A the other day and met the sweetest family the mom S is photographer also. It's so much fun to talk about what you love doing with someone who has the same passion. This weekend I took A down to the creek by our house. She fondly refers to it as Crocodile Lake. Luckily we did not see any down there today but I was able to capture this shot. She had so much fun splashing around in the water.

I bribed my child with this Popsicle so I could take her picture. I could not help it I scored the cutest ice cream top at Target and had to get some pics. I also admit that I kind of love her hair all crazy. Of course I like it when its all sweet and perfectly curly but this is so her.

This is an oldie but goodie of my sweetest little one. She is four going on 20. Today she had a valentines party at school. She said Mom I am going to give my first valentine to Parker then I am going to marry him. I asked what he said about all of this she said " Oh Brother" How I love this age I doesn't get any cuter.

This last weekend we went to a super hero party. There were the cutest little boys running around in their puffy armed spider man costumes. But there were not many girl costumes. Well to be honest not any. So this week my daughter was home sick and asked me to make her a super hero costume. Here is the result. A hilarious cape that I made complete with a mask. She topped if off with a pair of bunny ears. I love this age its too fun.

Recently my husband and I had friends over for dinner. A beautiful sweet couple with the cutest kids you have ever seen. Big sister has so much energy and is so full of life and her little brother is just as calm as can be. I used the opportunity to take a few shots of them together. Here is one of my favorites.

A little while after sending some of the images to mamma. I got this in my e-mail.

You have an incredible talent. It takes a seriously talented person to capture precious moments in time. I mean it soooooo much. You are a great photographer. Your pictures sometimes make me want to cry. Thanks so much. They are precious!!!

So I wanted to say thank you. It means the world to me that they mean so much to you.

Allot of times when I edit photos there are images that stand out and need to be edited right after a session. Other times I go back in and take a look at photos I have not worked with in a few days and I find ones like the image above. I always wonder why I never saw it before. Most of the time the end up being one of my favorites.

Here's my D. I just loved this one. She is 18 now and set to graduate this May. For a few months this year my daughter told her school I said it was ok to change her name to D. LOL yeah needless to say that was not the case. Super cute that she looks up to her cousin. But not ok to change her name.

My Nephews live in Dallas with their dad but for the holiday season they were in town. I miss them so much =( I was able get them all in front of the camera tonight after a big spaghetti dinner that could not have been better since it was with my favorite people. I love you guys!

I will be honest I hate having my photo taken, despise it actually. But today my favorite unwilling subject was napping and the husband was unavailable so what what I suppose to do? So I got my handy remote and snapped away. This was probably the only one that did not make me want to vomit. I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Monday I go back to work do I have to?

I picked up the cutest little snowflake edible not really sprinkles at the store. They were flaky like sprinkles but light wafery and slightly sweet. Well they called for mini cupcakes with light blue frosting. So today A and I went up to her school and brought them a plate. They were happy and I was happy there were less to eat around the house. We also baked tons of holiday cookies today yum. Including my all time favorite cookies with cinnamon chips and candied pecans. I would love to hear what your favoirite is.

This is J during the day I work with his mom. The other day they came over and we took some of the cutest shots of him. J's grandma is always so nice. She always is so excited about the photos I take. She ohs and awe's over them and honestly to make someone so happy is really wonderful.

Every year my daughter and I make a gingerbread house, this year was no exception. I put the icing on and she applied the candies. We had an extra gingerbread man on the top of the roof but unfortunately he feel off before the icing hardened. With each passing day the candies usually start to disappear I suspect from my husband and stepson. I would say my youngest but I always put the house where she can't reach it. I guess they think I won't notice. So what ever you believe in this season I wish you a amazing holiday filled with love and happiness.

Hi welcome to my blog. My first post will be a personal one. Meet J my stepson and A my daughter. Please excuse her hair in the picture sometimes the best photos get taken even when you have a bad hair day.

Why Sweet Elsie?
Elsie was my Nana one of the sweetest most supportive people who have blessed my life. She was strong, creative and she believed that I could do anything. I can't think of a better person to honor. This day when I read her letters to me I know I couldn't have asked for a better role model and grandmother.

About me
For as long as I can remember I needed to create. I can thank my parents for that. My mom was a weaver and my dad a blacksmith. I started out with wedding cakes and flowers then for a while I made my own purses next I learned lamp working and finally photography. And to be honest there probally have been a few others that I have forgotten about and I am sure there will be more. So that's a little about me.
